Hey bookworms,
For my upcoming release, I decided I would attempt to do things a little differently. Whether that will end up working in my favour, I’m not a hundred percent sure yet. I’ll have to wait and see. The first thing I tried my hand at was commissioning some art.
I actually did this for one book previously, A Summoned Husband, but it was NSFW art that obviously couldn’t be freely used for a lot of marketing. That was likely my first mistake, knowing how much readers love character art, but not having art that was readily accessible for everyone.
Oopsies.
That being said, my artist for A Summoned Husband’s Eden and Asmodeus did an amazing job, and I love them (these prints will be sold through my website soon!).
So… ART!
There is APPARENTLY a grown-up way to approach all this. A professional process that maximized my efforts. I know, who knew?! That being said, I think I will buckle in and try my hand at really making all the things I have set in place work for me, my readers, and my books. Starting with my newsletter.
My newsletter is supposed to be a more personalized way for me to connect with my readers. It should include more behind-the-scenes things, promos, the possibilities of goodies, and of course, FIRST LOOKS. I have had a lot of authors tell me their newsletter is their bread and butter. Their building blocks. Their foundations. Really… all the things I’m lacking. So, trying to really grab onto all that goodness with both hands, I will be using my newsletter to connect with readers a lot more.
It all starts with the first look at the character art for my upcoming release.
If you are subscribed to my newsletter, Ruin, Jinx, and Killian will be hitting your inbox at around 6PM today.
EXCITING, RIGHT?!
Hopefully, you’ve subscribed already and will be getting a look at this awesome commissioned piece soon! If not, all the more reason to sign up so you don’t miss out on all the goodies that will come later!
Peace out,
SJ
