Hey bookworms,
A big change has been made. The last year or so, I have been trying my best to find my Canadian readership. I’ve found it to be tricky, having more than 95% of my readers based in the USA, with only somewhere between 1-2% in Canada. This had made me take a moment to really reassess some things, the biggest thing being pricing.
Because I publish through Amazon, the default price setting is USD. That meant I would set the base cost for my books meant to go live on amazon in USD, and it would convert the cost for other regions. Now, this may seem like it makes a lot of sense, but what that meant for me as a Canadian author, trying to sell books (some of which are even set in Canada) to Canadians, was that their books were set at a higher price point. Where American readers were getting ebooks for 99 cents, Canadians were getting them for $1.36. Not a huge difference, but a difference just the same.
So what is changing?
Moving forward, there are two big changes. The first, all my ebooks will be priced at 99 cents. Typically, my ebooks were priced based on page length, with some of my longer books at $5.99 USD. Now, regardless of length, ebooks will cost 99 cents. The second change? This price will be locked in for my Canadians as well! 99 cents CAD!
Now is the time to grab any of the 13 books in my catalogue for 99 cents CAD (if in Canada) or USD (if in the USA)!
Happy reading!!
