The Monstrous World of Poe Wiley

A few years ago, I introduced a hybrid monster named Poe Wiley in A Bite Full of Death. As one of the rare hybrids — a reaper/succubus — she has powers from both her parents, but they’ve been twisted. She’s a reaper who devours souls instead of reaping them and a succubus that feeds on lust instead of spreading it. Despite her frustrating existence, Poe is very upbeat. She dances to the beat of her own drum… or playlist. Stalking the man she would love if she wasn’t terrified she would kill him, the last thing she expected was for their worlds to collide.

Set in Toronto, Poe manages to blend in with the mortals she hunts by sticking to the night scene. Bars and clubs are her hunting grounds, and old cemeteries are where she gets rid of the bodies.

Who would have thought this city was big enough for… more than one monster? As it turns out, there is something else monstrous on the streets of Toronto, and after things go left for the man Poe has finally gotten her hands on — Dex — Poe has no chance but to hunt down the very witch responsible for making Dex what he is.

Poe was a bit of a fan favourite (I loved her too). Between the random dancing, portable speakers, inability to take anything seriously and the obsessive way she loved Dex, she worked her way into everyone’s hearts — kind of like a succubus should. With that being said, it only made sense for her to make another appearance.

What to expect from this new book?

Monsters… obviously. This time, there will be three POVs. Poe will make her return to cause her usual havoc, but she won’t be one of the POVs or the main character… are you intrigued?

This world is interconnected, but these books will still be stand alone books.

Firsst draft is done and I’m working my way through edits. Typically I don’t do pre-orders but I am hoping to update everyone here on the blog for release dates. If I can kick my butt into gear, I just might get it out… this year!

Keep your fingers crossed for me… and your toes… and the fingers and toes of your loved ones.

xx
