Hey bookworms,
A lot has been happening with me over here, and I find that I work so hard to promote my books on my social media pages (mostly wasting way too much time on TikTok) that I forget I am an actual author with a website that needs to be updated routinely.
Oops.
Let’s start from the top, shall we?
As a lot of you know, I started this author journey with a fantasy novel, the start of a series, where a mom, Melas, traversed the Seven Realms with her five-year-old in tow trying to figure out who they were and who hunted them. Fantasy is where my heart is, and I’ve always loved thinking up the different worlds and possibilities. However, I’m forever living in the rabbit hole of Reverse Harems, Mafia Romances, and Billionaire Romances. My TBR in those subgenres is ENDLESS.
In these genres, I of course have some favourite BIPOC authors who always deliver, but they felt far and few between. I started thinking about what I craved from those genres, and Jax and Lennox were born. FALLING FOR TORMENTED TREASURES in the first in stand-alone series of Black billionaires, mostly set in Toronto.
If I’m being completely honest, this was a very selfish project where I got the relationship and characters I was craving, so naturally I didn’t expect it to get much traction. Boy, was I surprised. This was my first book that I’ve published that hit over 10K reads on Kindle Unlimited within the first month! Colour me surprised.
I also wasn’t expecting the side characters to resonate with so many readers. I got a bunch of messages asking if readers would get more of Zion, Lennox’s sister, and Nate, her best friend. It wasn’t in the plans, but I have a problem letting go of characters so… YES!
