I know a lot of you who have read my two main books in the series are likely hoping I am diving into book three for the Seven Realms books and will have that one out as soon as possible. Guy, it’s definitely something I have been working on and I would say it’s about 60% done the first draft (which is the hardest part). I’ve just found that the world is very immersive and complex and feel extremely worn and worked over after writing three novels and one novella in this universe and – for my mental health – decided to take a small break.
No worries! For any of you anxiously awaiting the next book, I still fully intend to get it out this year, with the fourth and final book in Melas’ story right behind it. But, I also don’t want to rush through it for the sake of getting it out and have my readers – and myself – disappointed.
So, here we are.
I’ve decided to write some crime fiction in the mean time. My hopes is without the intensive world building, magic systems, hierarchies and all the other things I ambitiously put in the Seven Realms books, I could take a breath and just enjoy the writing.
Let’s dive in then!
The books I’m working on now are three standalone novels that take place in the same world with the same characters moving throughout the stories. One was a blog story that took off forever ago and I have had more than a handful of people reaching out asking if they could purchase a physical copy, so that will be one but I felt there was so much more story to be told.
Right now the first book is in the editing process, the second book is in revisions and the third is still in first draft phase. I’m hoping to release all the books a few weeks apart, so we’ll see how that goes!
